“Go, gather all the Jews… and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day… Then I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”
— Esther 4:16
Fasting is not just about going without food—it’s about going deeper with God. In the Bible, one of the most courageous and spiritually powerful fasts recorded is the fast led by Queen Esther.
At Father’s Farmacy, we believe that fasting—when done prayerfully and with purpose—can bring spiritual clarity, emotional healing, and divine breakthrough. And few fasts exemplify that more than The Esther Fast.
The Esther Fast is a 3-day absolute fast (no food or water) modeled after the fast Queen Esther called in Esther chapter 4. Faced with a crisis that threatened her people, she asked for a fast—not just for strength, but for favor, boldness, and divine intervention.
While the original fast was a complete fast, many today do a modified version—such as water only, juice only, or partial fasting—for health and sustainability. What matters most is the heart posture of surrender and intercession.
1. For Courage in Crisis
Esther stood at a crossroads that required bravery beyond human strength. When you fast like Esther, you’re not only denying the flesh—you’re asking God to fill you with divine courage to face hard decisions and opposition.
2. For Favor
Esther’s fast wasn’t just about personal breakthrough—it was about gaining favor with the king. Fasting aligns your spirit with heaven, and when done in faith, it invites God’s favor over areas like relationships, leadership, finances, or purpose.
3. For a Nation, Not Just a Person
Esther didn’t fast alone. She called an entire community into alignment. When you fast, you’re part of something bigger. You’re standing in the gap—for your family, your generation, and your nation.

❤️ Remember This:
Esther was not a prophet, a priest, or a warrior. She was an ordinary woman who chose obedience in extraordinary circumstances. And through her obedience, God saved a nation.
You don’t need to be perfect—you need to be available.
Fasting like Esther isn’t about the performance. It’s about the positioning. God responds to humble hearts, surrendered lives, and bold faith.
At Fathers Farmacy, we believe in healing God’s way—spirit, soul, and body. Whether you’re exploring fasting, holistic living, or biblical health, we’re here to walk the journey with you.
